About the race
The Cupcake Crawl is the fourth annual fundraising event presented by Celebrate Birthdays, a 501(c)(3) organization that works to ensure foster children and other children in need can celebrate their birthdays and receive presents. The event takes place on August 29, 2026 at Al Lopez Park in Tampa, FL and includes both in-person and virtual options.
There are multiple course options:
- 5K chip timed race
- 1 mile Cup1K Dash for children
- 5K virtual race
Registration details vary by entry: in-person 5K and 1 mile registration opens on April 1, 2026 and the virtual 5K registration opens on April 6, 2026; all registrations close on July 1, 2026. Entry fees listed by the organizer are $35 for the 5K, $25 for the 1 mile, and $35 for the virtual 5K. Registered runners receive a custom bib and a shirt is guaranteed for those pre-registered before August 1, 2026; shirts after that date are available while supplies last and some sizes may be limited.
All finishers of the 5K receive a medal. Participants in the 5K and the Cup1K receive a cupcake voucher from Sugar Darlings Cupcakes. Awards include 1st through 3rd place overall male and female in the 5K plus 5-year age-group awards for the 5K. Early packet pickup is scheduled at Fit2Run International Plaza and packet pickup is available on event day at Al Lopez Park; there is no race day registration.
