Crystal Springs Ultra Races
The event takes place at Crystal Springs Recreation Area in Wytheville, Virginia on a loop course routed on the Crystal Springs Loop Trail, Boundary Trail, High Rocks Spur Trail, High Rocks Trail and connecting fire road and waterline sections. Trails include technical sections and substantial elevation changes. Parking at Crystal Springs is limited and participants are required to use a race-day shuttle. There is no parking at the start line. Shuttle parking address is 180 Pump Hollow Road and the start line address is 723 Pump Hollow Road. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the race in downtown Wytheville.
Distances
- 12 hour and 6 hour: one loop is 12.8 miles, 2,008 ft elevation gain
- 3 hour Crystal Light: one loop is 3.1 miles, 466 ft elevation gain
- The Leftovers Option: limited to 10 runners, $25 entry, no shirt
Aid stations are cupless so each runner must carry a collapsible cup or bottle. Aid stations provide PB&J sandwiches, bananas, pretzels, Oreos, hard candy, a limited number of gels and hot foods at selected stations. Registration after August 1 may not include a race shirt. Entry fees are nonrefundable; transfers and rollovers have specified conditions. Awards are given for 1st through 3rd overall in male, female, and nonbinary categories. Volunteer credits and shirts are offered for qualifying volunteer service. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
