Location and logistics

Place: Huddart Park (Werder Shelter), 1100 Kings Mountain Road, Woodside, CA 94062. Parking is $6 per vehicle; exact change is requested. Check-in and bib/shirt pick-up occur at Huddart Park on race day. There is no bag check; participants may leave non-valuables at the start/finish. No dogs are allowed in the park.

Course marking and safety

Courses are marked with ribbon approximately every 200 yards and use color coding per distance. Polka-dot flagging indicates turns; blue ribbons mark the wrong way. If runners do not see their course flagging for 3-4 minutes, they are likely off course and should retrace steps. Headphones are allowed only on dirt road sections and are not permitted on single-track, when crossing paved roads, at aid stations, or when crossing the finish line. Runners are advised to stay on trail due to poison oak and possible bees or yellow jackets.

Aid stations, timing, and awards

Fully stocked aid stations are placed every 5-9 miles with fruit, salty snacks, candy, water, and Skratch electrolyte drink. Runners are recommended to carry at least 20 oz of water between aid stations. The event is cupless; participants should bring their own container. All events have an 8.5 hour time limit; the Marathon and 50K have specific cut-offs at the Bear Gulch aid station (11 miles). Pre-registered runners receive shirts; all finishers receive a custom medal and 50K finishers also receive a custom coaster. Overall top three male and female finishers receive awards and race credits. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
