Crystal Lake Triathlon Race
The Crystal Lake Triathlon Race is a USAT-sanctioned sprint distance event located in Averill Park, New York. The competition takes place at Crystal Cove and features a course that traverses the countryside of Rensselaer County. Participants can choose from several categories, including individual triathlon, aqua bike, and team options for both adults and youth.
The event consists of three distinct segments:
- 0.5 mile swim: A single-loop course starting from the Crystal Cove beach.
- 18 mile bike: An out-and-back course through the local countryside.
- 3 mile run: A mostly flat course that circles Crystal Lake.
The aqua bike events follow the same swim and bike courses as the triathlon but conclude once participants enter the transition area after the cycling leg. The youth events are open to participants aged 12-17, while adult events are for those aged 18 and older.
As a USAT-sanctioned race, all athletes must provide proof of USAT membership or purchase a one-day license. Each participant is also required to sign a USAT waiver to compete.
