Event overview
The Crystal Lake Triathlon Race is a USAT-sanctioned sprint-distance triathlon held on August 15, 2026, at Crystal Cove, Old Route 66, Averill Park, NY 12018. The course distances are SWIM: 0.5 mi, BIKE: 18 mi, RUN: 3 mi. The race begins at the Crystal Cove beach with a single-loop swim, continues on an out-and-back bike course through Rensselaer County countryside, and finishes with a mostly flat run around Crystal Lake.
Categories and entry
The event includes the following categories: Adult Triathlon, Youth Triathlon, Adult Aqua Bike, Youth Aqua Bike, Adult Team, and Youth Team. Youth events are open to ages 12-17; adult events are open to ages 18 and older. The Aquabike category uses the same swim and bike courses as the triathlon and ends when participants re-enter the transition area after the bike leg. All participants must show USAT membership or purchase a one-day USAT license and sign a USAT waiver. Registration for event entries closes on August 11, 2026.
