CRPRC 5k Christmas Fun Run 2025
The Clwb Rhedeg Pontardawe Running Club will hold the 5k Christmas Fun Run on 21 December 2025 around Pontardawe. The event uses countryside paths and town towpaths and finishes at The Pontardawe Inn (Y Gwachel). Runners are required to be 18 or older.
Course and event details
The course begins on the Alloy Industrial Estate then moves off-road to a park and a riverside path past the Riverside Centre. It turns left to join a canal towpath, crosses Herbert Street, goes through an underpass and past shops, the leisure centre and a school on a paved off-road path. The route meets the canal again at the edge of Trebanos and follows the River Tawe to the finish at The Pontardawe Inn.
Entry opens on 13 October 2025 and closes on 19 December 2025. Entries reported so far total 124 participants. Entry fees are £8 for UKA members and £10 for non-members. Numbers are collected at The Pontardawe Inn.
This is run as a fun event with no chip timing; a finishing position will still be given. Runners are encouraged to wear fancy dress. Finishers receive a commemorative medal and a bottle of water. There will be prize-giving at the pub with mulled wine and mince pies, spot prizes for certain placed finishers (for example 10th, 25th, 40th) and prizes for best fancy dress.
