Event
The CRPRC 5k Christmas Fun Run takes place on 21 December 2025 in Pontardawe. The event is organised by Clwb Rhedeg Pontardawe Running Club. Entries open on 13 October 2025 and close on 19 December 2025. Entry fees are listed as £8.00 for UKA members and £10.00 for non-members. The minimum age to take part is 18. Entries so far are recorded as 93 participants.
Course and race details
The route covers countryside paths and town paths around Pontardawe and is a distance of 5 km. The course starts on the Alloy Industrial Estate, moves off-road through a park and along a riverside path past the Riverside Centre, then joins the canal towpath toward the town centre. The route crosses Herbert Street, goes along the canal through an underpass past shops, a leisure centre and a school, meets the canal near Trebanos and follows the River Tawe to finish at The Pontardawe Inn (Y Gwachel).
Numbers are collected at the finish pub. Runners are encouraged to wear fancy dress. Finishers receive a commemorative medal and a bottle of water, followed by prize-giving at the pub with mulled wine and mince pies. There is no chip timing; positions will be recorded. Spot prizes are planned for certain finishing places (for example 10th, 25th, 40th) and there are prizes for best fancy dress. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
