Crooked Creek Trail Weekend
Crooked Creek Trail Weekend takes place at Camp Crooked Creek inside the Harry S. Frazier Scout Reservation in Shepherdsville, Kentucky on December 5 and 6, 2026. The event uses a 12.7 mile trail loop that crosses roughly 1,000 acres of hardwood forest and includes more than 2,300 feet of elevation gain per lap. The start and finish area sits near the 70-acre John Barr Lake and serves as the runner village and support area.
Race options include ultra distances, marathons, half marathons, and 5K events. The 100 mile event uses an eight-loop format with a 36 hour cutoff; the 50 mile event uses a four-loop format with a 16 hour cutoff. The weekend includes pacer entries for the 50 and 100 mile events and triple-play entries that combine multiple marathon or half marathon starts across the weekend.
Support access is provided at the start/finish and at a three-mile mark on each loop for the 50 and 100 mile fields. Camp facilities described for participants include unheated cabins, primitive camping, heated bathrooms, and heated shower houses. The course is normally closed to the public and is opened for these event days.
