Cronkley Fell Race
The Cronkley Fell Race, organized by Durham Fell Runners, is a challenging 17.1 km (10.5 miles) fell running event held in Upper Teesdale, County Durham. The out-and-back course features over 560 meters (1,800 feet) of ascent, starting and finishing in the quiet hamlet of Holwick near the Farmhouse Kitchen at Low Way Farm. Runners traverse scenic fells alongside the River Tees, passing through the Upper Teesdale National Nature Reserve before turning at an island in the river.
The race demands navigation skills as the route is unmarked and includes rough terrain. Entry fees include a chip butty and refreshments, creating a welcoming atmosphere for experienced fell runners aged 18 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
