Cronkley Fell Race
The Cronkley Fell Race, organized by Durham Fell Runners, is a challenging 17.1 km (10.5 miles) fell running event held in Upper Teesdale, County Durham. The out-and-back course starts and finishes in the quiet hamlet of Holwick, running parallel to the River Tees with an ascent of approximately 560 meters (1,800 feet). Runners traverse undulating terrain through the Upper Teesdale National Nature Reserve, reaching a turnaround point at an island in the River Tees before returning.
The race requires participants to have fell running experience and navigation skills, as the route is unmarked. Entry includes a chip butty and refreshments at the Farmhouse Kitchen, the race base. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
Always double-check with the organizer's website – things can change, and we might have sprinted past a few details!
