About the race
Cronkley Fell Race is a regular Durham Fell Runners fixture held in Upper Teesdale. The event starts and finishes at the Farmhouse Kitchen, Low Way Farm, Holwick, near Middleton-in-Teesdale (DL12 0NJ). The course runs about 17 km (roughly 10.5 miles) with around 560 meters of ascent, following an out-and-back route parallel to the River Tees.
Runners enjoy scenic fells and head through Upper Teesdale National Nature Reserve to the river before retracing to Holwick. The route is not fully marked, so navigation and map-reading are essential. Entries are via SiEntries, with a chip buttie at the finish.
