Cronkley Fell Race

Cronkley Fell Race is a regular fixture organised by Durham Fell Runners, with a High Force variant also held. The event for 2026 is scheduled for Saturday 12 September 2026. Entries are open via SI Entries and a race map was updated for 2023.

The course starts and finishes at the Farmhouse Kitchen, Low Way Farm, Middleton-in-Teesdale DL12 0NJ. The main route is 10.5 miles with around 1800 ft of ascent. The course runs from the village of Holwick, passes through the Upper Teesdale National Nature Reserve, reaches the River Tees, then turns and retraces the route back to Holwick.

Entry fees are listed as FRA Members £8 and Non members £9. Entry includes a free chip butty at the finish. Results and photo records for recent years are kept by the organisers, and photos from 2021 and earlier editions are available in the event archive.
