Event details
The Crimson River Run 5K/10K is scheduled for March 7, 2026 at Southern University and A&M College, Harding Boulevard, Baton Rouge, LA (801 Harding Blvd). This is the fifth annual running of the event, formerly known as the Redz River Run. The race is hosted by the Baton Rouge Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and benefits several local charities and organizations. The course is USATF certified and runs on the university campus. The event includes a 20-yard "Dear Dash" walk exclusively for participants aged 60 or older; the winner of that walk becomes the official race starter. After the race there will be a Community Health and Economic Summit with health screenings and local small business vendors. Groups are welcomed to participate.

Registration pricing as listed by the organizer:
- Early (Oct 1 - Nov 30): 5K $20, 10K $20
- Regular (Dec 1 - Jan 31): 5K $25, 10K $25
- Late (Feb 1 - Mar 6): 5K $30, 10K $30
- Day of race (on site): 5K/10K $35
Participants who register before February 20 will receive a T-shirt and a finisher's medal; T-shirts are not guaranteed for later registrations. Prizes include $125 Varsity Sports gift cards for overall adult male and female winners of the 5K and 10K, and $100 Varsity Sports gift cards for overall youth male and female 5K winners. Place awards are given to the overall top male and female and the top three male and female runners in standard age categories from 0-19 to 80+.
