Event overview
The Crimson River Run is scheduled for March 7, 2026 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on the Southern University and A&M College campus at Harding Boulevard. The event is presented by the Baton Rouge Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and benefits several local charities and organizations. This will be the fifth annual running of the event and the course is USATF certified.
Race details
The event offers the following distances:
- 5k (3.1 miles)
- 10k (6.2 miles)
Registration is available in multiple periods; listed fees range from $20 at the earliest registration to $35 for day-of registration. Participants who register before February 20 will receive a T-shirt and a finisher's medal; T-shirts are not guaranteed after that date. A special "Dear Dash" is a 20-yard walk for participants aged 60 and older; the winner of that walk serves as the official race starter.
Awards include overall adult winners and youth winners for each distance, with monetary gift card prizes noted for overall winners. Place awards are given to the top 3 male and female finishers in age categories 0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80+. A virtual participation option is also offered.
