Crimson River Run 5K/10K
The Crimson River Run is the sixth annual timed run and walk featuring two distances held on March 6, 2027 at Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge. The course is USATF certified and takes place on the campus grounds.

Entry is offered in early, regular, and late registration periods, with higher fees for later entry; published amounts include examples of $25 for early, $30 for regular, and $35 for late registration. Participants who register before January 30 will receive a T-shirt and a finisher's medal. T-shirts are not guaranteed for registrations after January 30.
Prize awards include Varsity Sports gift cards for overall adult winners of each distance and for youth 5 km winners, and place awards for the top three male and female finishers in standard age categories. Age categories span 0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80 plus. Groups and teams may participate.
The event also includes a 20-yard "Dear Dash" walk for participants aged 60 and older; the winner of that walk serves as the official race starter. After the races, a Community Health and Economic Summit offers health screenings and local business vendors.
