Running of the Elves 5K
The Running of the Elves 5K takes place on Saturday, November 21, 2026, at Central Wildcat Stadium, 13845 Hooper Rd, Central, LA 70818. The event includes these race options:
- 1 Mile Fun Run (open to ages 1-11)
- 5K - Individuals (open to ages 1-99)
- 5K Group Discount for groups of 5 or more (group rate listed)
All participants receive a finisher's medal. The 5K has age-group awards (1-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+) plus top overall male and female and 1st and 2nd in each age group. The 1 Mile Fun Run awards overall top male and female. The event will be chip timed by Pelican Timing.
Details and logistics
Early packet pickup is at Central Community Athletics Gym, 10510 Joor Rd, on Friday, November 20 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Race-day packet pickup begins at 6:45 am. Participants registered by November 12 are guaranteed a t-shirt and a finisher medal; additional race t-shirt sales end November 15. Online registration closes November 19 at 11:59 pm. Posted registration rates include $30 through September 30, $35 from October 2 through November 19, and $40 on race day. The race benefits the Central Chamber of Commerce and its Shop Small Business Saturday campaign. Post-race activities include pancakes and coffee, photos with Santa, giveaways, a fire truck and mascot, kid activities, and a costume contest.
