The Crescent City Classic 10k is an annual running event in New Orleans, held every year on the Saturday before Easter Sunday. Established in 1979, the race is produced by the Crescent City Classic Foundation, a local not-for-profit entity. The event welcomes participants of various physical abilities, including joggers, walkers, wheelchair athletes, and families with kids in strollers.
The event offerings include:
- 10k General Registration
- Run For It Charity Registration
- LCMC Health Registration
- Virtual 10k General Registration
- Virtual Run For It Charity Registration
The race weekend features several community activities, including a two-day Health and Fitness Expo that is free and open to the public. After the race, a festival is hosted featuring local live music and New Orleans cuisine. The "Run for It" program is a central component of the event, aiming to raise $1 million annually for local charity partners. Participants in the charity registration category commit to a specific fundraising goal to support these organizations.
The in-person event takes place in New Orleans, with accommodations such as a training calendar and transportation info available for participants. General registration is open to individuals ages six and older, while children aged five and younger may participate for free. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
