Crescent City Classic 10k
The Crescent City Classic is a historical running event in New Orleans that has been held annually since 1979. Organized by a local not-for-profit foundation, the race coincides with Easter weekend and includes a variety of participation options for different interests and physical abilities.
Participants can choose from the following event types:
- 10 km footrace for runners, joggers, and walkers.
- 10 km wheelchair division.
- 10 km virtual race.
The event is open to a broad range of participants, including world-class athletes, families with strollers, and those using items such as rolling beer coolers. In addition to the race, the weekend features a two-day Health & Fitness Expo that is free and open to the community.
A post-race gathering follows the event, featuring live music from local bands and New Orleans cuisine. The event also maintains a philanthropic component through the "Run for It" program, which aims to raise funds for local charity partners each year. Registration options include general entry, charity-focused registration, and virtual participation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
