The course begins in Spanish Fork Canyon and leads participants through remote backcountry areas and alpine meadows. The route features a variety of landscapes including high ridgelines and forested sections.

The race follows a journey-style format, progressing through different types of mountain terrain. Participants navigate rugged climbs and flowing descents as they move across the landscape.
