Memorial 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run - Medina, OH
This community memorial event on May 9, 2026, features an in-person 5K race, a 1 mile fun run or walk, and a virtual 5K option. The in-person activities take place at the Buckeye Track and Soccer Complex behind the elementary buildings at Buckeye Local Schools, 3044 Columbia Road, Medina, Ohio.
Registration is required for each attendee. A participant t-shirt is included with registration though shirts are not guaranteed for registrations after April 24. All in-person 5K finishers receive a finisher medal. The event takes place rain or shine and includes activities, food, and beverages for attendees.
The Buckeye Education Foundation sponsors the event. Net proceeds will be used to benefit students in the Buckeye Local School District through grants that support classroom activities and instructional opportunities.
An associated after-school program for fifth and sixth grade students runs for six weeks and is designed to encourage fitness through games, walking, and running on the school campus. The program fee covers the race registration, a t-shirt, and an end-of-season celebration. Participants in the youth program are asked to bring a water bottle and to wear weather-appropriate clothing and athletic shoes.
