CQ Rescue Fun Run - BMA CQ Rescue
The BMA CQ Rescue Fun Run is a charity event on 2 August 2026 that raises funds to support the community-funded BMA CQ Rescue helicopter, which is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. All proceeds from the event are donated to BMA CQ Rescue to help keep lifesaving missions operating.
The event precinct is based at Iluka Park and all distances start and finish there. Routes follow the Bluewater Trail and pass local landmarks such as Binnington Esplanade, the Mackay Waterfront Precinct, Forgan Bridge and Harbour Road. The event includes automatic chip timing, team and family registration options, on-course pitstops with water, sunscreen and mosquito repellent, a support squad at turnaround points, coffee at the finish and professional photography.
Race pack collection is available from the BMA CQ Rescue Hangar at Mackay Airport prior to race day. Participants who register before 12 June will receive a singlet or t-shirt. Team entries are available for groups of four or more. Entry fees contribute to event costs with remaining proceeds donated to BMA CQ Rescue.
