Saanich Physio + Bazan Bay 5K : overview
The Saanich Physio + Bazan Bay 5K is race eight of the Vancouver Island Race Series. The event is scheduled for April 12, 2026, at the Mary Winspear Centre, 2243 Beacon Ave, Sidney, BC. The course runs along the oceanfront from Tulista Park, heading south for 2.5 km with a single 180-degree turnaround. The route features a very gentle uphill on the outbound leg and a gentle downhill on the return.

Logistics, fees, and rules
Regular registration price listed for the Bazan Bay 5K is $45.03; late registration is $55.76. Prices are shown as inclusive of mandatory charges, and GST (5%) is not included. The races are road running events open to runners, racewalkers, walkers, and wheelchair athletes only. Prohibited: roller blades, strollers, and cycling or other transport except designated official cyclists. Pets are not permitted except registered guide dogs. Visually impaired participants accompanied by an assisting runner or guide dog must start at the back of the field. The use of headphones is discouraged; participants may be disqualified if wearing headphones impedes other athletes, operations, or emergency services.
