Cover Your Tracks Forensics 5K Run/Walk
The Cover Your Tracks Forensics 5K is a community 5K run and walk held on October 31, 2026 at Greenville Tech Barton Campus, 23 Winterberry Ct, Greenville, SC. The event supports the Future of Forensics Scholarship Fund administered through the Department of Public Safety's Forensic Division.
Event activities include a 5K run/walk, educational tables around the Forensics Building where attendees can learn about forensic science careers and the science and technology used in the field, and a Halloween costume contest. Costume contest prizes are $50 for first place, $30 for second place, and $15 for third place; participants must wear their costume while running.
Registration information notes a $40 registration fee for the listed event and that kids 6 and under register free without a shirt, medal, or race bib. Participants who register before October 10, 2026 will receive a race shirt. All paid participants receive a medal. Packet pickup is available at the campus parking lot and on the race site. Parking is available at Greenville Tech Barton Campus.
Race awards include overall cash prizes of $100, $75, and $50 for first through third place male and female, plus awards for first through third place in age groups ranging from 0–9 up to 80+. The course map will be posted before race day. Race policies state the event proceeds rain or shine, starts may be delayed for severe weather, there are no refunds, and race-day registration is available by phone until the race starts.
