Courtland Pear Fair Run
The Courtland Pear Fair 5 and 10 Mile Run is an annual event held in Courtland, California, celebrating its 52nd year. The races coincide with the Bartlett pear harvest and take place on the last Sunday of July. Participants navigate a country course that features rural terrain. Check-in is located at the Nonie Wetzel Courtland Library on Primasing Avenue.
The event offers several distances for participants:
- 5 Mile run
- 10 Mile run
- 1/2 mile Kids Fun Run
Finishers of the 5 and 10 mile races receive medals. The event organizers maintain specific course rules, stating that dogs are not permitted and strollers are not recommended due to the bumpy nature of the route.
After the races, a pancake breakfast is available for a fee, with proceeds supporting local scholarship funds. The event also features a sale of merchandise from previous years, including tank tops, water bottles, and hats. These items are available for purchase via cash or check while supplies last.
