Cougar Mountain Trail Run Series (August)
The August edition of the Cougar Mountain Trail Run Series takes place at the Sky Country Trailhead within the Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park in Bellevue, Washington. This event is part of a long-standing series that supports the maintenance of local natural spaces, with a portion of every registration fee donated to King County Parks.
The courses consist of lush forest scenery featuring fern-lined single-track trails, marshes, and wetland habitats. The terrain includes rolling hills, moderate climbs, and several short, steep inclines. The event operates as a cup-free race to reduce waste, requiring participants to carry their own refillable water containers for use at aid stations.
Participants can choose from three distinct distances:
- 26.2 Miles
- 14.5 Miles
- 3.1 Miles (5K)
The series features a points system for those participating in multiple months, with awards for top overall performers in the short and long series categories based on cumulative times from at least three races. While dogs are generally allowed in the park on leashes, they are strictly prohibited from the race course due to insurance requirements. Post-race activities include food and beverages provided by local partners.
Online registration remains open until the Wednesday prior to the event, with day-of registration available if the participant cap has not been reached. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
