Obliteride
Obliteride is a fundraising event presented by Fred Hutch Cancer Center that includes a multi-distance bike ride, a family 5K walk/run in Seattle, and a virtual option. The event channels participant-raised funds to research, prevention, detection, treatment, and related programs at Fred Hutch; 100% of participant-raised dollars support discovery, with additional support from event sponsors.
Ride distances include:
- 25-mile bike route starting and finishing in Seattle
- 50-mile bike route starting and finishing in Seattle
- 100-mile bike route starting and finishing in Seattle
The walk/run is a family-friendly 5K held in Seattle. The virtual option allows participants to ride, walk, or run from any location. Volunteer shifts are available before and during Obliteride Weekend.
Age and registration details provided by the organizer include: ride participants must be 18 or older; walk/run and virtual participants may be any age; volunteers may be 12 or older. Published registration fees and fundraising minimums include a ride registration of $150 with a fundraising minimum of $1,250 or more, a walk/run registration of $75 with a fundraising minimum of $250 or more, and a virtual registration of $10 with no fundraising minimum.
Event weekend listings identify a Friday Night Party on August 7, 2026, and Obliteride Day on August 8, 2026. Over 13 years, participants and supporters have raised more than $67 million for Fred Hutch. Fred Hutch Cancer Center also serves as UW Medicine's cancer program.
