Cougar Mountain Trail Run Series #2

This event is part of a trail run series held at King County’s Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park in Newcastle, WA, located about 15 minutes from Seattle. The races use trails that vary from narrow, technical single track to wider, groomed paths. Runners pass through lush forest, fern-lined single track, over rolling hills, and alongside marshes.

Distances offered:

  • 5 km
  • 8.2 mile
  • 14.5 mile

The registration period includes online pre-registration until Wednesday, June 10 at 11:59 pm and event-day registration. The registration and start area is at the Sky Country Trailhead off 166th Way SE and not at the Red Town trailhead. Course maps, directions, and parking information are provided by the organizers.

The series has raised over $250,000 for King County Parks and has contributed many hundreds of hours of trail work. The event is associated with Seattle Running Club and Northwest Trail Runs.

Race day includes packet pick-up, a course briefing, the races, and awards. Series competition rules require runners to complete at least three of the four races in either the Short Series or the Long Series to be eligible for series standings. Scores from Short and Long races may not be combined for series ranking. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
