Event Information
The Cougar Literacy Run is a community event taking place in Manassas Park, Virginia. The primary event is a 5k run and walk that aims to promote literacy and wellness. Events
- 5k Run/Walk: A timed, in-person event with a course that goes through Manassas Park neighborhoods. The course includes some minor hills and downhills. Day-of registration is available. The event takes place rain or shine, with indoor facilities at Cougar Elementary School used in case of rain.
- Virtual 5k Run/Walk: A remote participation option where participants complete the distance on their own. Times are not tracked for virtual participants.
Additional Activities
The event day includes family-friendly activities and a Community Expo. There is also a separate Kids' Color Run for students from Cougar Elementary School and Manassas Park Elementary School. This fun run is free for students who meet a reading goal prior to the event, and participants receive a free t-shirt and bookmark.

The event is centered at Cougar Elementary School. Participants can purchase event merchandise, including t-shirts and bookmarks from current and previous years. Parking is available on Cougar Court.
