Cottontail 6- & 12-Hour
The Cottontail 6- & 12-Hour is an in-person and virtual loop event held in 2026. The in-person event takes place at Carkeek Park in Seattle on April 18, 2026. A parallel virtual option runs April 1–30, 2026.
The format uses repeated laps on a clockwise 1.93-mile loop with an additional 0.54-mile loop available most of the day. Each primary loop contains 436 feet of vertical gain. The course includes rolling trails, steep stairs, sections of singletrack, sound vistas, green trees, ferns, and spring flowers.
The event is organized as a fundraiser for Endless Trails, a Northwest 501(c)(3) nonprofit; funds after race costs support trail work, education, and advocacy. Organizers emphasize low-impact operations: no paper products on course and a goal of minimal race-day trash. Aid stations and raffle prizes are sourced locally. Race logistics include handcrafted bibs, lap counting with star stickers, hidden Easter eggs that provide bonus raffle entries, and on-course fuel such as homemade soup.
Participants may bring well-behaved leashed dogs. Entry fees for in-person events start at fifty dollars for the 6-hour and sixty dollars for the 12-hour. Virtual entry pricing starts at thirty-five dollars. Registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
