Event Details
The Cotswold Way Ultra Challenge takes place on 13-14 June 2026. The event starts and finishes at the Cirencester basecamp in the Cotswolds.
Distances
Participants can choose from several distance options:
- 100 km
- 75 km
- 50 km
- 25 km
- 10 km in Cirencester
The 100 km route is a loop through the Cotswolds, featuring rolling hills, villages, the Cotswold Way, footpaths, and trails with scenic views. The total elevation gain for the full 100 km is approximately 2250 meters.
Support and Services
The event provides comprehensive support. There are rest stops approximately every 12.5 kilometers offering food and drink, including main meals every 25 km. Medical teams, podiatrists, and massage services are available. The route is fully marked and participants are monitored via GPS tracking through a mobile app. At the finish line, participants receive a medal, a finisher's T-shirt, and a glass of fizz, followed by a meal. Accommodation options include camping or hostel-style lodging at the basecamp. Shuttle bus transfers to local train stations are provided, and parking is available for supporters.
Participation Options
Individuals or teams can participate by walking, jogging, or running. For 2026, there is a new Ultra Trailblazerz® category for faster, competitive runners with time goals. There is also an Ultra March® category for walkers aiming to complete 100 km in under 24 hours or 50 km in under 12 hours. A specific start time is available for solo participants who wish to meet others. Participants can join by self-funding their place or by fundraising for a charity.
