CORE Indoor Sprint Triathlon, Lemont
The CORE Indoor Sprint Triathlon is an indoor multi-sport event held in Lemont, Illinois. Each athlete completes three timed segments: a 10 minute swim, a 15 minute bike session on a Keiser spin bike, and a 15 minute run on a Precor treadmill. Total distance covered by each athlete is recorded at the conclusion of the event.
Heats are run in small groups of four to five athletes and begin at regular 20 minute intervals. Heat assignments are sent to participants in advance and athletes are asked to arrive 30 minutes before their assigned heat for check in. Packet pick up is handled at check in and includes the event t-shirt.
Registration closes on March 11 or when the event capacity of 60 is reached. There is no race day registration. Participants who register by February 24 are guaranteed an event shirt. The event is open to ages 14 to 100 and has an entry fee listed on event materials.
Participants should bring a swimsuit, towel, lock for belongings, athletic shoes for the bike and run, and any personal drinks or gels. The CORE is not responsible for lost or stolen items. An awards ceremony follows the final heat; awards are given to overall event winners and to first and second place male and female finishers in each age division.
