Coquet River Sprint Triathlon & Aquabike
The event is scheduled for 21 June 2026 at The Braid in Amble, Great Britain. It is an adult only event for people aged 18 or over. Registration closes on 15 June 2026 at 23:59.
Distances include:
- 750 m swim
- 20 km bike out and back
- 5 km run two laps for the triathlon only
The swim takes place in the tidal River Coquet. Wet suits are very likely to be compulsory and if not, are strongly recommended. The swim field will be organised into up to six waves at four minute intervals.
The bike leg is held on public non-closed roads and the Highway Code applies. In line with BTF rules participants can be disqualified for breaking road traffic regulations or for dangerous riding. Examples given include crossing central white lines on a single carriageway, not signalling right at roundabouts, and not being ready to brake at junctions or roundabouts.
The run is on mixed terrain including grass, track and pavement and may be slippery depending on weather; appropriate footwear is advised. The event uses chip timing, offers finisher medals and trophies for the overall top three in open and female categories. Tea, coffee and cake will be provided post race in the yacht club.
