About the race
The Cooper Young Festival Friday 4 Miler is a four mile road race produced by the Cooper-Young Community Association in the Cooper Young neighborhood of Memphis, Tennessee. The event takes place the night before the Cooper-Young Festival and finishes at a neighborhood block party.
Distances and options:
- 4 mile
- Virtual 4 mile (Spirit Runner)
The post race block party at the finish area includes pizza, Memphis Made beer, and live music. Participants who wish to drink beer must obtain a wrist stamp after showing valid ID; staff perform ID checks at the party site before the race so stamps may be obtained in advance. Entry to the post race party is allowed for participants wearing a race bib; guests without a bib may enter by making a donation of $10 per person to the Cooper-Young Community Association.
Packet pickup is offered at Bluff City Sports Print, adjacent to the start/finish. Cooper Street will be closed on race day so participants should plan to park and walk to the start area to collect packets. Online registration is required and remains available up to race start; packet pickup may include numbers for other registrants if the picker can provide each person’s date of birth.
Awards are presented for top overall male and female, top master and grand master, and top three in each age group from 1-9 through 70+. The event is managed by Start 2 Finish Event Management. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
