The Cooper Young Festival Friday 4 Miler is a four-mile road race held in the Cooper @ Central neighborhood of Memphis, Tennessee, on September 18, 2026. The event takes place the night before the Cooper-Young Festival and follows streets through a historic, eclectic neighborhood.

The course passes residential blocks where participants will see neighborhood homes and residents, and the organizer notes occasional local festivities along the route. A post-race block party at the finish area includes pizza, Memphis Made beer, and live music from the Lucky 7 Brass Band. Beer service requires a stamped wristband after proof of age; staff will perform ID checks and stamping before the event to reduce wait time after the race. Access to the post-race party requires a participant bib, or a $10 donation to the Cooper-Young Community Association for non-bib guests.

Packet pickup is available at Bluff City Sports Print, adjacent to the start/finish; participants may pick up packets for others if they know the other person’s date of birth. Online registration is required and remains open up to the race start. Awards are given to the top overall, masters, grand masters, and top three finishers in standard age-group bands from 1-9 through 70+.
