Cooper Teare Classic Alameda 10-Miler and 8k
The event starts and ends at Crown Memorial Beach Park and follows a new course that uses shoreline roads, city streets, estuary-side paths, and park trails. The route goes down Shoreline, up Broadway around the scenic East End, down San Jose through the Gold Coast, and along the Oakland Alameda Estuary. New trails through Sweeney Park lead runners back west, with the finish along Grand Street and Otis. Both the 10 Miler and 8k return to the start line.
Post-run activities take place on the grassy knoll at the Bath House and include a Cooper Teare VIP Zone, an EBRPD kids zone, and a Kindred Spirit small business vendor zone. The event benefits the East Bay Regional Park District.
Prizes include a cash award for top finishers in the 10 Miler and team prizes in the 8k. Runners in these events have the opportunity to compete on the USATF PA circuit for points.
