Event Overview
The Cookie Plug Race is an annual running event held in Evansville, Indiana. The competition takes place on an out and back course that primarily utilizes the Greenway Passage. The event starts and finishes at Garvin Park, located at 45 Don Mattingly Way.
The available distances include:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 10K Run
Participants who intend to walk the entire distance are requested to select the 5K option. The event is timed by To the Finish Timing and follows a rain or shine policy. Partial proceeds from the race benefit the Evansville Parks Department.
Participant Information
Participants receive a soft cotton Tultex unisex t-shirt and a custom di-cast finisher medal. Early packet pick-up for shirts and bibs is available the evening before the race at the Cookie Plug location on West Franklin Street, followed by late check-in on race morning at Garvin Park.
Awards are presented to the overall male and female winners, as well as the runners-up for each distance. Recognition is also given to the top three male and female finishers in various age categories, ranging from 13 and under to 80 and over. This race is also part of the Ultimate Fit Race Series, which includes multiple events across Evansville and Poseyville. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
