The Contraband 5 Miler is a pirate themed five mile road race presented by Lake Area Runners in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The 2026 edition marks the event's 50th anniversary. The course begins and ends at the Lake Charles City Court parking lot at 118 West Mill Street and runs along Lakeshore Drive, offering views of the lake, lake houses, and large estates. The route is described as flat and fast.

Registration uses tiered fees: $45 for registrations between January 20 and April 15, $50 from April 16 to May 1, and $55 on May 2 (online registration only). Age based pricing applies: ages 5 to 9 pay $5 without a shirt option, and participants 65 and older register free without a shirt; shirts are available for purchase for $20. Short sleeved performance shirts are provided to registered participants except those in the 5–9 and 65+ categories, and shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed before April 15.

Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the race and on race day at the Lake Charles City Court parking lot. Overall awards include cash and trophies for the top three male and top three female finishers, and age group awards are given in ten year brackets from 0–14 up to 70 and over. Volunteers are requested for packet pickup, course support, and post race service; volunteer registration closes April 30. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
