Community Action 400
The Community Action 400 is a multi-day charity event taking place over eight days across various locations in Orleans, Genesee, and Monroe Counties. Participants have the option to join in person at local high school tracks or participate through a virtual challenge. The event serves as a fundraiser for Community Action of Orleans & Genesee, an organization providing services such as emergency food pantries, weatherization assistance, and youth programs.
Participants may choose their own distance, ranging from a single lap to multiple miles. The in-person schedule features daily running activities at different sites:
- 55 miles at Albion HS
- 55 miles at Lyndonville HS
- 55 miles at Batavia HS
- 55 miles at East Rochester HS
- 55 miles at Kendall HS
- 55 miles at Medina HS
- 55 miles at Holley HS
- 15 miles at Albion HS
The daily activities on the tracks are generally scheduled for twelve-hour windows, with the exception of the final day and specific noted times for Batavia. On Tuesday, July 21st, the event at East Rochester specifically recognizes fallen law enforcement officers.
Individuals who prefer to participate remotely can join the virtual challenge. This format encourages participants to complete 55 minutes of walking or running each day during the event period. Registration for both the in-person and virtual tracks is open to the public. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
