About the race
The 4th Annual Hartford HealthCare Community 5K is a community run and walk held at Mortensen Riverfront Plaza, 300 Columbus Blvd, Hartford, CT. The event is presented by Hartford HealthCare in partnership with Riverfront Recapture and begins and ends at the Hartford HealthCare Community Stage. The route runs along the Connecticut River and passes through Riverfront Recapture parks.
Terrain on the course includes dirt trails, wooded trails, grass and paved walkways. Event offerings include a 5K Run, a 5K Walk and a youth category for participants age 16 and under. Check-in, bib pickup and same-day registration are available on site.
The first 500 registrants receive a race t-shirt. Registration fees are non-refundable. Awards are given to top finishers in age groups: 10 & under, 11-14, 15-18, 19-29, 30-45, 46-59, 60-69 and 70 & up.
Parking options include free on-street parking on both sides of the river and paid parking in the Connecticut Convention Center Garage. The garage has a recommended fifth floor parking area with a north-side exit that provides direct access to Mortensen Riverfront Plaza.
