About the race
The 2026 Hartford HealthCare Community 5K takes place on September 26, 2026, at Mortensen Riverfront Plaza, 300 Columbus Blvd, Hartford, CT. The course begins and ends at the Hartford HealthCare Community Stage and runs along the Connecticut River through Riverfront Recapture parks.
The event offers a 5K run, a 5K walk, and a youth 5K entry for participants age 16 and under. Terrain on the route includes dirt trails, wooded trails, grass, and paved walkways. The first 500 registrants will receive a race t-shirt. Registration fees are non-refundable. HHC colleagues may be eligible for a discount code through the HHC Running Group or Heartbeat.
Awards will be presented to top finishers in the following age groups: 10 and under, 11 to 14, 15 to 18, 19 to 29, 30 to 45, 46 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 and up. Free on-street parking is available on both sides of the river. Paid parking is available in the Connecticut Convention Center Garage; the fifth floor exit on the north side provides direct access to Mortensen Riverfront Plaza.
