2026 Commander-in-Chief Chase 5k & 10k
The Commander-in-Chief Chase is a President's Day running event at Wilderness Presidential Resort in Spotsylvania, VA. The event offers two race distances and an option to participate virtually.

The course is paved and described as fairly flat, running through the resort with scenic views. Water stations are provided along each course; Gatorade will be available at some stations. Restrooms are located in buildings at the beginning of the course.
Runners receive a finisher medal, a technical Drifit event shirt, and the race is chip timed. Results are posted live on Athlinks and final results with series points are published on the event website after the race. Photo uploads from staff are posted on the event social page by the Tuesday following the event. Runner tracking via SMS is available for registrants.
Points from this event count toward the Year Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack series and toward the Winter Series. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to top finishers in multiple age categories; overall top three finishers are not eligible to also place in age group awards.
