Comet 5k run/walk
The Comet 5k run/walk is scheduled for July 25, 2026 in Grand Ledge, Michigan, with the course starting and finishing at the Grand Ledge High School track. The event offers an in-person 5k and a virtual 5k, both covering 3.1 miles.
Band members from the Grand Ledge Comet Marching Band will play along the route. Water stations and post-race snacks will be provided. Parking is available at Beagle Middle School, 600 W. South Street; participants are asked to turn at Jenne Street to access the Beagle parking lot. Lohne Drive at the roundabout will not be open.
Registration opens June 16. In-person registration fees are $35 through July 12, $40 from July 13 to July 24, and $45 on race day. Student registration (ages 18 and under) is $25. The virtual 5k fee is $40 and includes shipping; virtual participants may submit results after completing their run. All proceeds support the Grand Ledge Marching Band.
All participants who register by July 12 will receive a t-shirt; shirts after that date are available while supplies last. Packet pickup locations include the Grand Ledge Track Complex for early pickup and race day pickup beginning the morning of the event. The race will be professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation. Awards include overall gift certificates and age-group medals.
