Comet 5k run/walk - event overview
The Comet 5k run/walk takes place on July 25, 2026 in Grand Ledge, Michigan. The in-person 5k starts and finishes at the Grand Ledge High School track. The route includes live music from the Grand Ledge Comet Marching Band and has water stations and post-race snacks. Parking is available at Beagle Middle School, 600 W. South Street; attendees are advised to turn at Jenne Street to access the Beagle parking lot. The street Lohne Drive at the roundabout will not be open.

Registration opens April 15, 2026. In-person registration fees are tiered: $35 through July 12, $40 July 13 to July 24, and $45 on race day. Student registration for ages 18 and under is $25. Family pricing applies when three or more people register together; a $3 per person discount is applied during registration. Virtual registration is $40 and includes shipping; virtual participants may run at their own location and submit results by July 26 at 11:59 pm. T-shirts are provided to participants who register by July 12 and thereafter as supplies last.
Awards include overall male and female gift certificates and age group medals for listed age categories. Results are available live and after the race. Proceeds support the Grand Ledge Marching Band. The race is professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation. Early packet pickup location is the Grand Ledge Track Complex; race day packet pickup begins the morning of the event.
