Columbia Triathlon
The Columbia Triathlon is a community focused multisport event held at Clemens Crossing Pool in Columbia, Maryland. The event offers two distance options and stages a pool swim, a road bike on marked public roads, and a paved trail run. The course is USA Triathlon sanctioned and follows applicable USAT rules. Registration includes a t shirt and a finisher medal.
Swim starts are time trial format with athletes self seeding based on a 100 yard pool swim time. Wet suits are not permitted. The bike course uses well maintained roads with rolling terrain, marked turns, and volunteer and police support; the route remains open to vehicle traffic. The run loop is mostly flat with one hill and one aid station offering water and Gatorade.
Athlete check in takes place on the day before and race day and must be completed in person. Race packets include a race bib, wristband for transition access, an adhesive bike number, and a timing chip which athletes must wear. The transition area is restricted to athletes only. Body marking is performed on race morning and age is determined as of December 31, 2026.
Age minimums and award details apply: Sprint entrants must be at least 14 years old, Super Sprint entrants at least 10 years old. Awards are given only for the Sprint race in overall and age group categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
