Columbia Firecracker 5K & 10K
The Columbia Firecracker features two road running events held in Columbia, Maryland. Participants can choose between two distances:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 10K (6.2 miles)
Both courses utilize the paved paths surrounding Lake Elkhorn. The route is described as flat and scenic, featuring views of the water. The event is open to both runners and walkers.
Specific age requirements are in place for safety. Participants in the 5K must be at least 7 years old, while those entering the 10K must be at least 10 years old. Registration fees vary by distance.
The event starts at 9821 Broken Land Parkway, near a parking lot adjacent to Uber Bagels. To maintain a safe environment for all participants and spectators, certain items are restricted on the course. Pets, baby joggers, strollers, in-line skates, bicycles, and any other non-official wheeled vehicles are strictly prohibited from the race routes.
