Colt 45 Trail Race : November 22, 2025, Colt Creek State Park
The Colt 45 Trail Race is held at Colt Creek State Park, 16000 State Rte 471, Lakeland, FL. The event offers four distances:
- 60 miles - Colt Double Malt, based on repeated 14-mile loops
- 45 miles - Original Colt 45: three 14-mile loops plus a 3-mile starter loop
- 45K - Colt Silver: two 14-mile loops
- 14 miles - Colt Mini: one 14-mile loop
Course and race support
The course is loop-based with each 14-mile loop served by three aid stations. All finishers receive handcrafted finisher awards and top finishers in each distance receive additional awards. The venue is within a large state park with pine flatwoods and wetland habitats; wildlife that may be seen along the route includes bald eagles, white-tailed deer, alligators, otters, gopher tortoises, and fox squirrels. A post-race picnic is held for participants to rest and observe other finishers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
