Colors for Hope 5K
Colors for Hope 5K is a community memorial event held in Montague, Michigan, at 8636 Water St., on July 31, 2027. The event supports youth mental health through a scholarship fund and programs that promote suicide prevention and peer-led intervention in schools.
There are two event options covering the 5K distance (3.1 Miles): a timed Run/Walk and a non-timed Walk. Registration opens on February 18, 2027 and closes on July 31, 2027. Registration fees listed for the events are $30.00 for the timed 5K Run/Walk and $20.00 for the non-timed 5K Walk. Race packets are available for pickup prior to the event.
Event day includes a welcome with sponsor and vendor recognition, a prayer, a color toss, runner and walker lineup, and an awards ceremony. Awards are presented to the top three female and top three male finishers across multiple age groups: 8 & under / 9-12 / 13-16 / 17-22 / 23-30 / 31-40 / 41-50 / 51-60 / 61-70 / 71+. The organizers state that 100% of proceeds provide scholarships for local high schools and support Hope Squads, peer-led suicide prevention programs that focus on education, training, and peer intervention.
