Colorado Springs Spartan Weekend
The Colorado Springs Spartan Weekend takes place at the Fort Carson Army Base, located at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. The event features a high-altitude course situated a mile above sea level near Pikes Peak. Participants navigate a landscape of rugged trails and steep climbs across varying terrain.
The weekend offers several event distances and obstacle configurations:
- Ultra 50K: A course consisting of 50 km and 60 obstacles.
- Beast 21K: A half-marathon distance of 21 km with 30 obstacles.
- Super 10K: A 10 km course featuring 25 obstacles.
- Sprint 5K: A 5 km distance including 20 obstacles.
- Kids Race: Distances ranging from 1 km to 3 km with age-appropriate obstacles.
The venue at Fort Carson provides a grit-focused environment where the elevation impacts the physical requirements of the race. Along the course, participants will find positioned water stations and fruit stations. An obstacle workshop is scheduled for the Friday before the main races. Spectator access is available for those wishing to view the event from the sidelines. General parking is provided on-site, and participants can also coordinate with others to run as a team to secure shared start times. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
