The YMCA Color Splash Fun Run includes 1K and 5K course options held at Fairgrounds Park in Hagerstown, Maryland. Participants pass through multiple color stations where colored powder is thrown along the course. A clock will be visible at the finish but there are no timing chips.

Registration and entry details differ by division. Registration opens 2026-04-17. For the 1K & 5K (ages 6+) the listed registration fee is $35.00 and registration closes 2026-05-31. For the 5K (ages 0-5) the listed registration fee is $15.00 and registration closes 2026-09-22. The registration fee includes entry (5 color stations, 3 specialty stations, 2 hydration stations), a participant t-shirt, a goodie bag, healthy snacks and water, and a finisher’s medal.

Packet pick-up is available early at the YMCA on Thursday, September 24 (11:00 to 19:00) and Friday, September 25 (08:00 to 13:00), and on the morning of the event starting at 07:30. On-site parking is available at Fairgrounds Park; carpooling is suggested and gates close promptly at 08:45.

Colored powder is described as food grade cornstarch and is noted as natural, but inhaling it may affect people with respiratory issues. Organizers recommend covering the nose and mouth with a bandanna or shirt and using glasses or goggles to protect the eyes. Strollers are allowed and children 5 and under may participate free with an adult but will not receive a participant t-shirt. Dogs are not allowed.
