College of Applied & Natural Sciences: Run for Research
The College of Applied & Natural Sciences: Run for Research is an athletic event held at Joe Aillet Stadium in Ruston, Louisiana. This event coincides with the Louisiana Tech homecoming weekend and serves to support initiatives within the College of Applied and Natural Sciences (CANS). Proceeds from the event are directed toward student research projects, service-learning programs, and educational experiences.
The event features the following participation options:
- 5K Run/Walk
- Supporter/T-Shirt Only (non-competitive)
The 5K course is open to both runners and walkers. Participants can register for the race or choose a supporter option that provides a commemorative t-shirt without requiring participation in the physical event. Following the completion of the course, attendees can meet with various student organizations to learn about academic programs, community projects, and ongoing research conducted at the university.
