Coiners Fell Race 2026
Coiners Fell Race is an annual fell race held on 4 May 2026 with assembly at Mytholmroyd Community and Leisure Centre in Mytholmroyd, GB. The route runs on paths, tracks and moorland, taking in Erringden Moor, Stoodley Pike, Bell House Moor and Broadhead Clough. The course offers views of Cragg Vale and passes the old coiners cottages of Bell House and Keelam.
The advertised distance is 6.9 miles (11.1 km) with approximately 1300 ft (396 m) of ascent. The route was amended in the previous year to avoid disturbance to ground nesting birds; the amendment made the course slightly longer with more climb. The race is licensed by the FRA under UKA rules and is designated a non GPS race.
Entries open on 30 March 2026 and close on 1 May 2026. The minimum age for entry is 18. Entry fees are listed as £6.00 for FRA members and £8.00 for non members. A small number of entries have already been recorded.
Parking is at Mytholmroyd Community Centre with a £1 charge; any surplus will be donated to Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team. Competitors should allow about 15 minutes to walk from the car park to the start field and must provide their vehicle registration when requested by marshals.
A decision on mandatory kit to be carried will be made on the day depending on weather. Competitors should be prepared to carry the FRA minimum kit which includes a waterproof full body cover with taped seams and attached hood, a hat, gloves, map, compass and whistle.
