Coffman YMCA Sprint Triathlon
The Coffman YMCA Sprint Triathlon takes place at the Coffman YMCA in Springboro, Ohio. A portion of event proceeds benefits the YMCA Annual Campaign. Organizers describe the event as intended to accommodate both novice and more experienced triathletes. The race begins and ends at the Coffman Y.
The course is composed of three segments:
- 300 yd pool swim in a serpentine format, with athletes wearing a chip timer on the ankle
- Two-loop bike out-and-back course through Settler’s Walk and Lytle Five Points
- 3.1-mile out-and-back run through Settler’s Walk
Transition is through the back of the pool area to bike racks at the back of the YMCA. Volunteers will be positioned along the run route to direct participants. There is one aid station located near the 1- and 2-mile marks on the run.
Timing and results are provided by Speedy-Feet and the event is chip timed. Awards include a medal for every participant who crosses the finish line, overall male and female awards, and age group awards in these categories: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and over. Registration is handled only through Speedy-Feet; on-site registration at the YMCA is not available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
