Event overview
The Code 5k: Answering the Call is an annual 5k fundraiser held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, in Mountainside, New Jersey. The event starts and finishes at the Mountainside Rescue Squad building at 1399 Route 22 East, Mountainside, NJ 07092. All proceeds support the Mountainside Rescue Squad. The Mountainside Rescue Squad is a 501(c)(3) organization staffed entirely by volunteer EMTs that provides prehospital emergency medical services to the borough and surrounding communities.

- 5k Run - timed; shirt provided for registrations completed before April 1; price $35; registration opens March 2, 2026.
- 5k Walk - not timed; bib and shirt provided for registrations completed before April 1; price $30; registration opens March 4, 2026.
- Kids Fun Run - shirts not available; price $20; registration opens March 4, 2026.
A 5k route map is available for the main course.
Location and logistics
Parking is limited near the squad building. Participants are advised to consider parking at the Mountainside Community Pool or the Mountainside Library and using the footbridge to cross Route 22. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
