Course and logistics

The route connects established trail systems and towns, including the Black Canyon National Recreation Trail, Prescott Circle Trail, Arizona Trail, and Flagstaff Loop Trail, and passes through Crown King, Prescott, Jerome, Clarkdale, Cottonwood, Sedona, and Flagstaff. The 250 course lists 21 aid stations and 4 water drops; aid stations provide water, an electrolyte drink, sodas, sweet and salty snacks, fruit, vegetarian and vegan options, and most will offer a hot meal. The first crew-access aid station on the 250 is at the Crown King Saloon, about 37 miles in. A GPS-enabled device with the course file downloaded is mandatory for runners.
