Cocoa Classic 5K - Sandy Springs, GA

The Cocoa Classic 5K is a community road race held on Saturday, February 13, 2027, at The Mount Vernon School, 510 Mount Vernon Highway, Sandy Springs, GA 30327. The event is the fifth annual running of this USATF certified loop course and is listed as a qualifier for the AJC Peachtree Road Race.

The race was founded by a Mount Vernon student as an Eagle Scout project and has provided new athletic shoes to more than 1,600 children through its partnership with Shoes That Fit. Proceeds now also support mental health work that reaches teens and young adults before a crisis.

Participants receive postrace items for finishers and awards for top finishers. Every finisher receives a Cocoa Classic YETI cup and hot cocoa. Road Runner Sports gift cards are awarded to race winners.

The event uses chip timing with ChronoTrack and offers early bib pickup. Registration fees are tiered: $45 on or before January 12, $50 from January 13 through February 12, and $55 on race day. Walkers and strollers are welcome, and the course is described as a loop that serves both competitive runners and recreational participants.
