COASTAL EDGE STEEL PIER CLASSIC 5K
The Coastal Edge Steel Pier Classic is a 5K road race held on the Virginia Beach Boardwalk during Memorial Day Weekend in May 2026. This event is presented as the 21st annual edition and follows a flat out and back route along the boardwalk.
Runners start at 2nd Street on the boardwalk, proceed north to 24th Street, then return to 2nd Street. There are water stations at the start/finish area and at the turnaround. All finishers receive a T-shirt and a medal.
Additional event elements include the Coastal Edge Student Art Pavilion and the Coastal Edge Steel Pier Classic by Katin WSL 1000 surfing contest. Parking is available in the 2nd Street lot near the start, and metered spaces are available on nearby cross streets.
Packet pick up is scheduled for Friday, May 23rd from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Coastal Edge, 316 21st Street, Virginia Beach, VA 23454. Race morning packet pickup is available at the start line between 6:00 AM and 6:30 AM. The registration fee listed for the 5K event is $40.
