Coastal Edge Steel Pier Classic 5K
The Coastal Edge Steel Pier Classic is a road running event held during Memorial Day weekend in Virginia Beach in May 2027. The event is the 21st annual edition and features a 5K race along the Virginia Beach Boardwalk.
The course is flat and follows an out and back route. Runners start on the boardwalk at 2nd Street, proceed north to 24th Street, and return to 2nd Street. Water stations are located at the start and finish area and at the turnaround.
All finishers receive a T-shirt and a medal. The event also includes the Coastal Edge Student Art Pavilion and a pro and amateur surfing contest presented as the Coastal Edge Steel Pier Classic by Katin WSL 1000.
Parking is available in the 2nd Street lot near the start, and metered spaces are available on nearby cross streets. Packet pickup is scheduled for Thursday, May 21 at Coastal Edge, 316 21st Street, Virginia Beach, and race morning pickup is available at the start line prior to the race.
