Coastal Edge ECSC 5K
The event is a 5K road running race held on the Virginia Beach Oceanfront Boardwalk, starting at 2nd Street during the Coastal Edge East Coast Surfing Championships. The course is an out-and-back along the boardwalk with oceanfront views and is described as fast and flat. Course marshals will be positioned at key points and a water station will be set up near the turnaround.
All finishers receive a custom medal and a commemorative tee. Packet pickup is scheduled for Tuesday, August 19 at Coastal Edge on 21st Street (316 21st Street, Virginia Beach, VA 23451), with additional packet pickup on race day at 2nd Street on the Virginia Beach Oceanfront Boardwalk. On-site registration will be located under the Coastal Edge tent near the start line.
Online registration is listed at $40 until August 16 and $45 starting August 17. Walk-up registration accepts cash or credit only. The event takes place outdoors and is subject to weather; the organizer states that no refunds will be issued for inclement weather. Pro surf competitions and other CE ECSC events are scheduled to occur shortly after the race, and all associated events are free and open to attend.
