Coast to Coast Copper Trail
The Coast to Coast Copper Trail is a newly extended half marathon that runs from Portreath on the north coast of Cornwall to Devoran Quay on the south coast. The way marked trail follows two historic transport routes first opened in 1812 that were used to move copper to the ports of Portreath and Devoran.
There is one checkpoint at the Fox and Hounds in Scorrier where staff provide fluids and salt and sugar snacks. Staff will check off bib numbers at that checkpoint even if runners do not stop. All participants receive a Coast to Coast Copper Trail medal, and there are awards for the top male and female finishers.
There is no kit check but all runners must carry fluid and a mobile phone. An optional reusable cup can be used for coke or squash at the checkpoint; no cups will be provided at the checkpoint or the finish. The minimum age is 18 years. Canicross entries are welcome and the event is subject to restricted numbers.
An optional minibus transfer shuttle back to the start can be booked; departures depend on passenger numbers and waits are possible. Devoran village hall will be available for shelter in bad weather and for toilets. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
