Coast to Coast Copper Trail

The Coast to Coast Copper Trail takes place on Saturday 23 May 2026. It is a way marked trail run of approximately 11.5 miles that crosses Cornwall from Portreath on the north coast to Devoran Quay on the south coast.

The route follows two historic transport roads first opened in 1812, originally used to move copper to the ports of Portreath and Devoran. There is one checkpoint at the Fox & Hounds at Scorrier where staff provide fluids and salt and sugar snacks. Staff will check off bib numbers at the checkpoint even if runners do not stop.

There is no cut off time for this event. All participants must carry fluid and a mobile phone and there is no kit check. An optional reusable cup may be used at the checkpoint; no cups will be provided at the finish. All finishers receive a Coast to Coast Copper Trail medal and there will be awards for the top male and female finishers. The minimum age is 18 years. Canicross entries are welcome. The event is subject to restricted numbers.

An optional minibus transfer back to the start can be booked in advance. This shuttle departs as numbers require and may involve waiting between departures. The event is timed using the ST App Service with no chip timing. Registration is handled on race day at Portreath Surf Lifesaving Club. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
