About the race
The Coast Guard Foundation Run to Remember is a memorial road race and walk held at Fort Trumbull State Park in New London, Connecticut. The event includes a chip-timed 5K (3.1 miles) and a Kids Fun Run (800 m, 1/2 mile).
Registration for the 5K has tiered fees by date: Sept. 1 - Oct. 3: $35; Oct. 4 - Oct. 15: $40; Oct. 16 - Race Day: $50. The Kids Fun Run is free but requires registration. The first 100 5K registrants receive a commemorative coin. Limited edition event T shirts are available for $30, with proceeds supporting the Coast Guard Foundation emergency relief and tragedy assistance programs.
The 5K course begins at Fort Trumbull State Park and follows an out-and-back route along Pequot Avenue, described as flat with views of the Thames River. Chip timing is provided by SNERRO, LLC. Strollers are welcome. Awards include top three male and female overall finishers and top three male and female in the listed age groups: 14 and under; 15 to 19; 20 to 29; 30 to 39; 40 to 49; 50 to 59; 60 to 69; 70 and over.
