Coach Mike O'Brien Memorial 5K St. Patrick's Day Run
This event is a USATF certified 5K held at Morris Catholic High School in Denville, New Jersey on March 13, 2027. The course certification number provided by organizers is NJ24014JLW. The event is presented in memory of Coach Mike O'Brien, who served as a cross-country and track coach at Morris Catholic for 25 years and who started the original Morris Catholic St. Patrick's Day 5K in 2012.
Registration opens January 19, 2027 and closes March 3, 2027. The published registration fee is $35.00. A limited number of dri-fit t-shirts will be distributed to the first 250 registered runners. Race proceeds benefit Morris Catholic High School scholarship and athletic programs as well as the Denville Public Assistance Fund.
Timing is provided by Best Racing Systems using chip timing, with mobile results available after finishing. Runner bib and t-shirt pickup takes place in the Morris Catholic cafeteria at the back of the school next to the soccer field. Parking is on the school campus with designated overflow locations on Kitchell Road, Audubon Drive, Gardner Field parking lots, and Savage Road; posted parking restrictions should be observed.
Post-race activities include an awards ceremony with medals in multiple age groups and refreshments such as music, bagels, bananas, and beverages. The event is scheduled to proceed rain or shine. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
