Cloudcroft Ultra 53K and associated distances
The Cloudcroft Ultra takes place in Cloudcroft, New Mexico, on the Rim Trail (T105) in the Sacramento Mountains at approximately 8,600 feet elevation. The main event uses forest single-track and former rail‑bed sections that pass through stands of fir, pine and quaking aspen and offer views down to the Tularosa Basin roughly 4,000 feet below. All races start and finish at the Pavilion in Zenith Park.
Race formats are out and back on the Rim Trail. The 53K adds a lollipop loop at the turnaround to include additional climbing and summit scenery. Aid and support for the 53K include six aid stations stocked with water, sports drink, gels and snacks; two drop bag locations are available near mile 13 and mile 20. The 9.5 mile course has two aid stations. Crew access is provided at the aid stations near mile 1 and near mile 6 via Alamo Peak Road with one lane driving.
Additional event details: chip timing for all distances; custom shirts and finisher medals for finishers; packet pickup at the Zenith Park pavilion; all events are non refundable. The event is organized by Wanderlust Running and is the second event in the inaugural Sacramento Mountains Ultra Series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
